Tee Ball
Tee-Ball Baseball is for children 4-6 years old. The purpose of the program is to introduce the players to the basics of baseball including throwing, hitting and fielding and for them to experience the value of teamwork and friendship. In Tee Ball, players hit a ball off a batting tee. Rules of the game may be varied to accommodate the need for teaching. There is one 60-minute practice during the week and one 60-minute game on Saturdays. There are no outs and no scoring. An inning of Tee Ball is completed when all players on both teams have batted. Games are played on the Tee Ball Field located behind the Somers Town Hall. Rosters are kept to between 6-7 players to maximize the fun!

There is one 60-minute practice during the week and one 60-minute game on Saturday’s with no scoring. All players bat, but the concept of outs is incorporated into the games. Farm AA
Our Farm AA division is for players ages 6-8 and/or has previously played Rookie Instructional Baseball. There is one 90-minute practice during the week. There is a confirmed game Saturday morning and potentially one other game during the week. The games follow the Little League Green Rule Book, are for six innings and incorporate all aspects of baseball including playing all positions, use of umpires and outs. This level utilizes a pitching machine. Machine pitch guarantees that most of the time batters see good pitches to swing at and very little walks occur which keeps the game moving and the kids active. Halfway through the season, coaches may elect to incorporate half game kid pitched innings. Games are played on either the Minors Field or the Majors Field located behind the Somers Town Hall.

Travel baseball provides our players opportunities to compete in tournaments and sometimes leagues, generally in the surrounding townships, but potentially out of state as well, depending on the team and the managers and families involved while representing Somers Little League. In the past, we have played in tournaments such as Easthampton Mighty Mite, Belchertown Green Monster, Agawam Jimmy Fund, Nutmeg State Games, as well as our own Classic Wood Bat Tournament.
